Bangkok turned out to be a very diverse, exciting city. Our hotel Lobby was generally filled with Indians, Arabs and Africans complete with traditional attire. Egyptian influences also seem to be abound in many restaurants, plenty of hookahs. Televisions in International Hotel lobbies and Restaurants are just as likely to be airing Al Jazeera as they are CNN. Women in full burka attire were a relatively common sight, much to the kids curiously. Barrett says she'd "just move if she lived where she had to wear that".
The lifestyle in Bangkok is addicting, things are cheap and the sites are many. I can see why there are so many ex pates here. Syd and I both can see we coming back at some point, maybe even this trip. We head to Chiang Mai now and look forward to making a more permanent base.
Hope to hear from you all.

Hello Eric, Syd, Rylan and Barrett. This is Leslie. It's very nice to see your pictures and hear the descriptions of your journey. A great learning experience for the kids. I'm proud of my brother for thinking outside the box. Michael and I just adopted a golden retriever puppy named Jonah. He's ten weeks old today. We are spending out thanksgiving vacation training him, or starting to. My beloved cat Noah ran off, so I was sad about that and this is our cheer up puppy.
Hey kids & grandkids: Love your blog, and the photos are wonderful. Keep enjoying and keep letting us know your impressions. Love, Mom
Ok....the mopeds....are they at least wearing helmets? I think I know the answer to that one! So great to hear from you and yes Nigel,Karen and Bryn are in Baja living another adventure together. I am looking at 8 inches of snow in my front yard and skied untracked Friday which ignited my soul once again. Needed that! What a wonderful experience for you and your family and great pictures. Surprised....no mention of tennis? Love to you all, Jen
